  • Wider Enrichment

Life at Blue Coat is much more than academic achievement. Our curriculum provides all students with a much broader programme of enrichment opportunities.

At The Blue Coat School we encourage creativity and curiosity and place great value on developing our students’ abilities to be self-directed and self-motivated.

    EPQ

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is an additional opportunity for students to develop independent research and study skills alongside their A Levels.

    • Equivalent to half an A Level in UCAS points
    • Highly valued by universities
    • Allows students to explore a topic of personal interest

    Assessment involves:

    • A 5,000-word research essay, or a shorter essay combined with a practical project
    • A record of progress and research
    • A final presentation to an audience

Projects must be based on a topic that is not part of the student’s A Level courses.
