What does the Development Fund do?

The Development Fund exists to provide for the extra opportunities that truly enrich our students’ experience. It allows us to create an environment where every student can thrive: academically, creatively, and personally, empowering them to exceed their potential.

Through a wide range of co-curricular activities, students build confidence, resilience, teamwork, and time-management skills, while forming lasting friendships and discovering new passions. These experiences are a vital part of a well-rounded education and play a key role in shaping who our students become.

Since its launch, the Fund has been generously supported by parents, grandparents, Old Blues, and friends of the School. Their contributions have made an immediate and meaningful difference, enabling projects that directly enhance student life.

Recent initiatives supported by the Fund include improvements to school facilities — such as the resurfacing of the yard and installation of a multi-use games area — as well as investment in performance spaces, musical instruments, technology, and essential equipment. The flexibility of the Fund means we can respond quickly to the School’s most pressing needs each year, ensuring continued support where it matters most.

Over the past year, the Development Fund has supported:

    • Entry into national competitions, including the Maths and Physics Challenges
    • A newly resurfaced multi-use games area with upgraded netball facilities
    • Team-building workshops for Year 7 and Year 12 induction days
    • The Everyman Project for Year 7 and Year 12 students
    • A Chamber Choir visit to Cambridge
    • Cultural celebrations, including Diwali and Iftar
    • The Anti-Racist Captains programme
    • Duke of Edinburgh Award licensing
