  • Blue Coat School Celebrates Outstanding Mathematics Achievement

Blue Coat School is delighted to celebrate the exceptional achievement of Year 10 student William, who has been awarded a Gold Medal in the prestigious United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Hamilton Mathematical Olympiad.

This outstanding result places William among the top 20 students nationwide and marks him as the highest-performing student in the North West region. The Olympiad is one of the most demanding mathematical competitions for young people in the UK, requiring advanced problem-solving skills, creativity, and resilience.

Following this exceptional performance, William is now in strong contention for an invitation to the highly selective UKMT Oxford training camp. Each year, only 24 students are chosen from across the country based on their Olympiad results, making selection a significant honour and an important step towards further national and international mathematical opportunities.

Since joining Blue Coat in Year 9, William has fully embraced school life, building strong friendships and contributing positively to the wider school community. His success reflects not only his individual talent and dedication, but also the encouragement and support he has received from his teachers and peers.

The school looks forward to following William’s continued progress and hopes to share further achievements in the months ahead.
