The U16 Merseyside Cup final was played on 5/7/22, held over as we could not play the final before the GCSE exams started. Blue Coat played Ridgeway HS at the Tranmere Rovers Solar Campus.
Our Year 12 Biology students participated in this year’s Intermediate Biology Olympiad. Over 12,566 students from 608 schools worldwide took part in this year’s competition. Of this figure, 5% were awarded the Gold, 10% the Silver, and 15% the Bronze award.
The Youth Sport Trust set out a national initiative each year, which focusses on all children having equal access to sport within school and the benefits this has on their development. Their theme for 2022 is: Belonging – a place in sport for every child.

On Monday 22nd June 2022, the Blue Coat U14 cricket team reached the semi-finals of the prestigious Lancashire Schools Competition for the second successive year when they defeated Merchant Taylors School in a closely fought contest.

Last Tuesday our police liaison officer organised for an Old Blue to come into school and talk to our year 12 students about the dangers of Knife crime.
We bid a fond farewell to our Year 11 students this morning as they start their study leave, ahead of their GCSE exams.
The Royal Navy’s Head of Data & Navy Applications was so impressed by the Blue Coat BOB (Buoyant Observer of Billabongs) boat project in a national computer science competition at London’s Science Museum he told the team it had “extreme potential” and would report back to his colleagues.
Mr Holloway met the Blue Coat Team BOB at London’s Science Museum during the Finals of the PA Raspberry Pi to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education.
Blue Coat’s U16 Football team has made it to the Final of the Merseyside Cup after snatching victory from the jaws of defeat in the last few minutes of the semi-final.
