The U16 boys’ table tennis team delivered an outstanding performance at the National Table Tennis Finals on Sunday, finishing 6th in the country after a highly competitive series of matches.
The team faced strong opposition throughout the tournament, beginning with a narrow 7–1 defeat to London Academy in the quarter-final, who went on to become runners-up. Despite this setback, the players showed excellent resilience and character, bouncing back in style with an emphatic 8–0 victory over Warwick School.
Their final match saw a closely contested 5–3 defeat to The King’s School, Peterborough in the 5th/6th place play-off, securing a top-six national finish.
This result marks an exceptional end to the season for the squad—Ranveer, Reece, Keshav and Ollie (Year 10)—who have competed a year above their age group throughout the competition. Their commitment, consistency and determination have been key to their success.
The team concludes the season as both Merseyside and North West Champions, capping off a remarkable year of achievement and establishing themselves among the strongest school table tennis teams in the country.
