Blue Coat pupils enjoyed a fantastic cultural adventure in Paris, exploring some of the French capital's most iconic landmarks, world-famous museums and historic attractions. The trip provided a wonderful opportunity for pupils to immerse themselves in French culture, history and art, whilst experiencing the atmosphere of one of Europe's most beautiful and vibrant cities.

On Wednesday 21st October, The Blue Coat School came together for a wonderful evening of culture, celebration and entertainment as we hosted our annual Diwali event. Organised by our Sixth Form Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Group and Senior Prefects, the evening was a fantastic celebration of the rich cultural diversity within our school community.

During our recent Empathy Week, students came together to collect an impressive 237 items for South Liverpool Foodbank, demonstrating that compassion and community spirit are very much alive at Blue Coat.
Our Year 7 pupils recently embarked on their highly anticipated transition residential to the Conway Centre in Anglesey from Friday 9th to Saturday 10th October 2026.
At The Blue Coat School, we encourage all members of our community to make a positive difference beyond the classroom. Dr Wainwright
from our History Department is doing just that, leading an exciting national project to establish Great Britain's first Down Syndrome futsal team, with the ambition of competing at the European Championships in Poland in July 2027.
This week, our Sixth Form students organised a fantastic Breast Cancer Awareness Cake Sale, bringing the school community together to raise both funds and awareness for an issue that affects so many people and families.
This week and next, all Year 7 students at The Blue Coat School will receive a brand-new book
that they have personally selected through the Bookbuzz programme. The initiative, run by
BookTrust, aims to encourage young people to develop a lifelong love of reading by giving
them the opportunity to choose and own a book that interests them.
Students from across the school have been working incredibly hard in Origami Club to create a wonderful collection of paper birds.
Throughout October, Blue Coat will join schools and communities across the country in marking Black History Month 2026. This year’s national theme is “Honouring Our Communities”, recognising the people whose everyday leadership, service, creativity, care and commitment help to strengthen communities across Britain. This week, members of the Jewish community at Blue Coat, across Liverpool and around the world are observing Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement and the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. Yom Kippur is a deeply signif icant time of reflection, repentance and renewal, when many Jewish people fast, pray and attend synagogue, reflecting on the year that has passed and considering how to live with greater
kindness, responsibility and purpose in the year ahead.
