As part of the Key Stage 3 Religious Studies curriculum our new cohort of Year 7 students travelled into the city centre on Tuesday 4th October to visit one of Liverpool’s most iconic landmarks, the Anglican Cathedral.
Students enjoyed meeting with Dean Pete who discussed his Christian faith and beliefs, with a number of students putting some very interesting and challenging questions to him. There was also a chance for some personal reflection as students were asked to consider “How would you like to be remembered?”
Following their quiet reflection students had an opportunity to explore the Cathedral’s grand surroundings independently and a chance to sketch some of its magnificent architecture.
Reflecting on the trip Leen from 7 Graham “thoroughly enjoyed looking at the splendor and beauty of the Cathedral” with Samuel from 7 Bingham stating, “the fact that such a large place could be so astonishingly quiet was incredible.”
