Thursday 19th May marked Year 13’s final day at The Blue Coat School. As is custom at the School students attended a special service in the Chapel which centred on the theme of friendship. During the service Headteacher Mr Pennington and Assistant Headteacher Ms Lynette Holland celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2016 and predicted many more successes for members of the 187 strong cohort, as they embark on the next phase of their lives.
Rounding off the celebrations in the grand surroundings of the Boardroom students both ‘true coats’ and ‘new coats’ reflected on their time at the School through photographs, videos and speeches highlighting memorable school trips and traditional Blue Coat house rivalry. Messages of thanks were also directed to teaching and support staff for their huge academic and personal support over the past seven years.
Chair of Governors Julia Shaw expressed her admiration for the Class of 2016, remarking on their fantastic commitment to their studies and sense of humour. Old Blue and Chair of the Development Board Carl Cross encouraged students to stay in touch with the School and to share their future achievements with the Blue Coat School Community.
We would like to wish the Class of 2016 the very best of luck as they prepare to sit their A Level examinations and wish them every success as they embark on the next stage of their lives.
