We are incredibly grateful to our community of Old Blues who generously offer their time to support our students through our Careers Information Advice and Guidance (CIAG) programme. As our Year 11 students consider their post 16 options, which includes exploring their A Level choices and next steps after Blue Coat, our attention turns to our Year 11 mock interview programme.

Due to the pandemic, our 2020/21 mock interviews successfully took place online and a number of Old Blues from across the UK and around the world commented on how using a remote platform allowed them to support our CIAG programme for the first time, with travel no longer a barrier. To ensure that all Old Blues are able to participate and to minimise the disruption to Year 11 lessons, we have decided to continue holding our mock interviews via Microsoft Teams.

We will be holding our Year 11 mock interviews online, from Monday 22nd November to Friday 3rd December, from 5-7pm on Microsoft Teams.

A number of safeguarding measures will be in place throughout. Parents will be provided with the date and time of their child’s interview and they will be encouraged to be present in the interview room. Volunteers will also receive a copy of our student online behaviour policy. Our Administration Team will be responsible for scheduling each interview and participants will not be able to record their session.

Each interview will be 25 minutes long with 5 minutes for verbal feedback. There will also be a summary sheet for volunteers to complete, either electronically or handwritten. A guidance pack, including student CVs, will also be provided in advance.

If you would like to get involved and support the programme, please contact our Deputy Head Mrs Sarah O’Rourke at by Thursday 4 November, highlighting the dates and times that you are available. This will allow Mrs O’Rourke and our Administration Team time to organise a timetable for this event.

Finally, if you are unable to volunteer at this time, but are keen to get involved with our CIAG programme, please consider our ‘5 minutes with…’ online careers series, which features Old Blues studying and working across the world in a variety of sectors. The series is a fantastic tool for all our students as they consider their next steps after Blue Coat. To take a look at the series so far please click here. If you would like to take part, please contact the Development Team at and further details will be provided.

If you have any questions or if you would like to support the School in other ways, please do not hesitate to contact the Development Team.
