It is a great achievement that The Blue Coat School’s 2015 GCSE results earned the School a coveted top five place in the Department for Education’s performance tables. Ranked fourth nationally by the Government, the School has also been recognised in a number of national newspapers. The Telegraph listed The Blue Coat School top in its league table of the, ‘Top One Hundred Schools in England’, with the Daily Mail placing the School fourth in its rankings. This fantastic recognition comes just weeks after The Sunday Times awarded the School its prestigious ‘Top State Secondary School of the Year 2015’.
Responding to the news Headteacher Mr Pennington stated, “I am absolutely delighted that the significant efforts of our staff to help all of our students achieve the very best that they can has been recognised in the recent Department for Education performance tables.”
The Chair of Governors Julia Shaw said, “We applaud the achievements of the students currently with us and it increases our determination to makes these opportunities available to more children throughout Liverpool who equally deserve the same opportunity to thrive.”
With such an incredible start to the year The Blue Coat School community looks forward with confidence to what else 2016 has in store. Congratulations go to all our teaching staff and students.
