It is a great honour that The Blue Coat School has featured in the prestigious Sunday Times Parent Power list 2014. Ranked as the 4th best performing state secondary school in the North West and 54th nationally, the academic success of the school continues to be recognised. With over 2,000 state and independent schools from across the country included in Parent Power’s assessment, staff and students are thrilled with The Blue Coat School’s standings.
In response to Parent Power’s assessment Mrs Silcock stated “there are many factors that contribute to the students’ success, but it is the ‘working together’ of staff and students, through engaging lessons, large numbers of enrichment activities, pastoral support and aspirations that make for an overall good experience”.
Our lengthy list of achievements in 2014 has included outstanding GCSE examination results, with students attaining a magnificent 82% A*- A grades with over 44% of those at A*. Over 84% of our talented students were awarded 7 or more A*- A grades. Following our summer of success, in September the School was delighted to be selected as an example of good practice in education in the 2014 Parliamentary Review.
