At the start of spring term staff and Old Blues came together, virtually, to celebrate Children’s Mental Health Week and its theme “Express Yourself.”

Working behind the scenes in the weeks leading up to the event, our fantastic Student Support Team, delivered an excellent online series of engaging films to support the mental health and wellbeing of our students.

“Given the year we have all had, we felt marking this event provided an ideal opportunity to promote mental health and to give our students a chance to explore the theme and to have some fun! We really enjoyed being able to share the ways we as staff like to express ourselves and we hope it encouraged our students, and staff, to consider how they can support their mental health through a variety of different ways.” Charlie Cobain, Student Support Coordinator
Also reflecting on the series, Charlie’s colleague Georgia Williams; “The event was very successful, staff and Old Blues shared there amazing talents and showed students that everyone has there own way of expressing themselves. Students found the videos enjoyable and interesting! We were able to spread so much more awareness about mental health, self-care and to encourage everyone to engage in things we love to do, no matter how weird we think they are! It also created a great sense of community in terms of staff, students and Old Blues knowing others might feel the same as them.”

Children’s Mental Health Week may have drawn to a close, but you can still access our “Express Yourself” series, which includes:

We also shared some great films for the School community to get involved with:
