On Sunday 13th November Mr Keith Caulkin, President of the Liverpool Blue Coat Old Blues’ Association, travelled to Beaumaris to join in the town’s remembrance service and lay a wreath at the Cenotaph, on behalf of the Old Blues who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the last war. The whole School was evacuated to Beaumaris during World War Two, and we continue to be thankful for the kindness of many of the town’s families who billeted Blue Coat students over a number of years.

The march from the Town Hall was led in musical terms by the fine Beaumaris Brass Band to the church and after a solemn and reflective service the wreaths were laid at the Cenotaph with the last post and two minutes silence following. A large community gathered for this part on the road and the churchyard, and the event was blessed with fine weather.
