On Saturday 19th July the school choir returned home from a very successful tour to Austria and Southern Germany. They performed in a variety of locations including St. Michael’s Church in Mondsee ( the ‘Sound of Music’ church), churches in Bad Reichenhall and Strobl and on the promenade at Zell Am See. Concerts were very well received with the choir receiving two standing ovations and many highly complementary comments about their performances.
The group also did some sight-seeing, taking a trip down one of Austria’s famous Salt Mines, a boat trip on Lake Wolfgang, a stunning gorge walk at Leichtensteinklamm, and a visit to the trick water fountains at Hellbrun palace, as well as a day in the beautiful city of Salzburg.
“Students were excellent ambassadors both for themselves, their families and the school throughout the trip and the final concert proved a sad farewell to our Year 13 leavers.” Mr Emery, Head of Music
