There are a number of ways in which parents can get involved and support the PA. Below you’ll find further information on how you could help volunteer or fundraise, and of course please do get in touch to find out more!
Come to our meetings
Our Committee meets once a month throughout the School Year where all matters relating to the PA are discussed. All parents are more than welcome to attend any of our meetings. Whilst the phrase ‘Committee Meeting’ may sound a bit formal the meetings are just a chance for us all to discuss future plans, as well as have the chance to air views and ideas which will ultimately help our children.
We always welcome new members – it does not matter if you’re unable to attend every meeting, please do just come along when you can and introduce yourself so that we can welcome you to the group.
Everyone is welcome to come along to our committee meetings which are usually held at 7pm on the first Monday of every month but please check the school calendar or our Twitter page for confirmation.
If you would like to view any of the minutes from our previous meetings these are available upon request, so please Contact Us.
Take on a role on our committee
The dedication of many parents are what helps provide the ‘extras’ for our students that many may take for granted. There have been members of the PA that have and still continue to give freely of their time long after their sons or daughters have left the school, sometimes because insufficient numbers of people step forward to ‘pass on the baton’. If you are interested in taking on a role on our committee please get in touch.
Volunteer at Events
As well as holding our own events throughout the year we also provide crucial support to the School by providing refreshments at events such as the Carol Service and School Shows. We always welcome new volunteers to help out at these events.
We encourage ALL parents and the wider Blue Coat community to support our events and activities. If you are available please consider attending our events which are always a lot of fun. If you’re able to help us secure raffle prizes or are able to volunteer or help plan the event please do get in touch. To view our upcoming events click here.
Some of our parents that are involved with the PA are able to claim match funding from their employer, to match money we raise from our fundraising activities. Match funding makes a significant different to the amount of money that we raise as a PA, and means that we can donate even more money to the School each year to support our children. If you work for a company which offers match funding and you’d like to find out more please contact us for further information.
The 100+ Club is up and running for 2018/19 – thank you to everyone who has signed up to take part.
The club gives members a chance to win a cash prize at one of the ten draws held throughout the year. It is also an easy way for parents, staff, Old Blues and friends of the School to get involved in supporting the fundraising efforts of the Parents Association for a small cash outlay and without the need to give up any time.
The club is a small lottery where each year parents, staff, Old Blues and friends of the School have the chance to buy numbers, which are allocated randomly. The numbers are theirs for the whole year and are paid for in advance at a cost of £12 per number per year.
Draws are made at our monthly PA meetings and all winners are notified by email.
