“In these difficult times the members of The Parents’ Association would like to express our gratitude to all members of staff at The Blue Coat School for continuing to support our children’s learning, online or in person. We look forward to returning to normality as soon as is safely possible, and we hope everyone is safe and well.
What seems like an awfully long time ago, before lockdown, the PA were delighted to help out at this year’s School Show, Legally Blonde, where we served refreshments and popcorn, as well as holding a nightly raffle to raise funds for the school. A huge thank you to all who donated each night, and of course to the amazingly talented actors, musicians and backstage crew who made every evening extremely enjoyable. We have once again pledged £500 to kick start the fundraising for the next performance.
Since Christmas we are happy to have donated funds, jointly with the Development Fund, to support the English Department’s visiting author workshop and Murder Mystery event for World Book Day, the Maths and Computing Department, as well as the PE department and the ever popular Chess Club. We have also co-funded a Visualiser for the Art Department.
Obviously there will be changes in September and we are not sure if we will be able to hold meetings or social events but we hope to return with our PA 100 Club, which is a small lottery monthly draw organised via Parentmail. We are also looking into ways we may be able to hold a Christmas Raffle, as this is our main annual fundraiser. When decisions are made we will be in touch to let you know how you can support us and the school.
We will also be in touch with more details of the PA/Eco Committee uniform recycling initiative, due to be launched next term, so save any good quality items your child may have grown out of and we will put them to good use.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us this year, have a lovely summer.”
