“This year we have been overwhelmed by the generosity and support we have received from parents and friends of the school, thank you all so much. Once again, our fundraising activities have been limited but I can report that participation in our 100 Club small lottery draw has been the highest ever, meaning higher prize money, which is great news for the monthly winners, especially the December Double Draw winners!

“We were also delighted with the response to our Christmas Raffle, with lots of generous prizes donated, and record ticket returns. Congratulations to the prize winners, especially the lucky Year 8 student who won a £500 Liverpool One voucher. Happy spending!

“Since September we have co-funded over a dozen bids with the School Development Fund, giving money to the KS3 Carousel Day, as well as the Maths and Computing, History, MFL and PE departments. We are also delighted to have donated towards Student Support Craft Clubs, and the Library for LBGTQ+ resources. This week alone we have agreed to co-fund prizes for an English writing Competition, resources for the Computer Science Raspberry Pi initiative, French Club, Young Geographer of the Year Competition, and a Business Studies Christmas Fair.

“The Parents’ Association has announced funding for an annual prize in memory of one of our members, for at least the next 10 years. The Gill Power Award for Outstanding Musical Contribution to School will be awarded each year on the last night of the School Show. The winner will be chosen by the Music Department and Gill’s family. Anyone who knew Gill will be aware of her passion for Musical Theatre, and how much hard work she put into The Parents’ Association, and we hope that this is a fitting tribute to her.

“Hopefully, we will get to see you all in person in the near future, but until then may I wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”

Jill Kyriakides – Chair of the Parents’ Association
