The Blue Coat Parents’ Association held their Wine Tasting Event on Friday 17th October in the beautiful surroundings of the Board Room.
Mr Mike Stoddart from Oddbins Allerton Road hosted the event and provided an excellent light-hearted and informative commentary which ensured we all left thoroughly wiser about many aspects of the wine-making craft, thanks to his encyclopaedic knowledge and enthusiasm as a subject matter expert.
Just over fifty parents, staff, associates and Old Blues attended the event and it certainly kept our very own amateur sommeliers, Sharon Pearson and Marie Morgan, very busy throughout the evening. The Liverpool Cheese Company provided excellent cheese as always to complement the wines on offer.
It is estimated the evening will have raised around £800 in total, once all funds are totalled, which will be spent enhancing the ‘Blue Coat Experience’ for our students as indeed do all funds raised on Parents Association events.
Our sincere thanks go to Mike Stoddart and all those who were able to attend the event. Thanks also to Marie and Sharon for their hard work on the night and to Jill Kyriakides ably assisted by son and daughter Elliott and Anna who helped-out behind the scenes in preparation of the evening. Special thanks also to the Blue Coat site staff for all their help before during and after the excellent evening.
Next highlight on the Calendar is the upcoming Cabaret Night – Friday 28 November (tickets £10). Watch this space for further details in the coming weeks!
