Performing to over 350 members of the School community, the voices of our Year 7 and Senior Choirs singing Christmas classics such as ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ and ‘Hark the Herald Angel Sing’, resounded around the Chapel at this year’s Carol Service. An amazing £357.24 was raised for local charity Liverpool Cares, from the retiring collection.
Attending for the first time, a friend of the School said “the standard of singing was outstanding – quite simply the best I have ever heard from any school choir!”
Continuing the festivities in Shirley Hall our talented jazz and brass bands, string quartet and many more ensembles, were met with rapturous applause. For one audience member “the finale from the jazz band rounded off a superb evening; the School must be very proud indeed of the high standard of its musicians.”
Huge thanks go to Mr Emery, Director of Music and Miss Horton for all their hard work!
