As part of the School’s Information, Advice and Guidance programme, students from all three Key Stages have had the opportunity to attend a variety of careers events. Led by Assistant Head and IAG coordinator Miss Holland, these special events have been designed to guide our students as they reach crucial markers in their school lives.
Introduced at the start of the year, our Inspiring Futures careers programme, continues to go from strength to strength, with our Old Blues returning to share their advice and expertise with our students. Sectors including marketing, law, emergency medicine, teaching and scientific research have proved extremely popular, and as we progress into the summer term we look forward to rolling out the programme to our Key Stage 3 students.
The beginning of March saw students in Years 8, 11, and 12 attend our annual careers fair along with their parents.
The two hour event saw over fifty exhibitors, from a variety of sectors including web design, scientific research, teaching, law and finance attend, as well as representatives from a number of local and national universities.
Reflecting on the Miss Holland stated, “The School is delighted that so many professionals give their time to share their enthusiasm to support, advise and guide our students as they embark on their decisions about GCSEs, A levels and post-18 plans. This was a fabulous and encouraging way for students from Years 8, 11 and 12 to research a range of options for their future career.”
