After several weeks of nervous anticipation students at The Blue Coat School today celebrated some of the best GCSE results ever recorded at the School.
Of all grades:
54% were ‘9-8’
78% were ‘9-7’
A total of 344 GCSE grade 9s were achieved, illustrating the hard work and commitment shown by our talented students. In addition to this, fantastic performances in Chemistry where celebrated, with 59 students achieving a grade ‘9’ and nearly two-thirds of grades in Latin were grade ‘9’.
Reflecting on this year’s results, Headteacher Mr Pennington remarked;
“Our Year 11 students deserve to be immensely proud of their GCSE results which are among some of the highest results that Blue Coat students have ever achieved. We are delighted once again to celebrate the amazing results of our talented students and equally talented staff supporting each other and working together in harmony to achieve and often surpass all of our aspirations.”
Chair of Governors, Mr Martin Hill added;
“The Governing Body of The Blue Coat School are thrilled to see the students achieve so highly in their GCSE’s. We congratulate the students, staff and leaders of The Blue Coat School for working so well together to achieve this remarkable standard which allows so many students to realise their ambitious aspirations.”
We wish everyone the very best of luck as they embark on their A level courses and we look forward to celebrating their tremendous results at GCSE prizegiving in November.
