“The national Year 10 British Physics Olympiad competition is now into its second year and 68 Blue Coat students sat the online test during the summer term. After a nervous wait the result are now in and I am delighted to report that 15 Gold Awards were won.
Our Gold winners were well above the national average, but what is more pleasing is that Year 10 physicist Tabitha scored the highest mark in Blue Coat, achieving 53 out of 60. Tabitha’s fantastic achievement has resulted in an invitation to Oxford University’s Physics’ Department for a Masterclass in September. Many other top gold scorers from around the country will also be present and Tabitha will receive tuition in problem solving skills and will obtain a flavour of physics at university.
Reflecting on her success Tabitha remarked, “this is an amazing opportunity that I am delighted to have been offered, and I cannot wait to see what the masterclass will be like.”
This is a great opportunity for Tabitha and we are most proud of her achievement.”
