The Blue Coat School is delighted to have been shortlisted for three categories at this year’s Educate Awards – Most Inspirational Secondary School, The Communication Award and Outstanding Arts in Secondary Schools.

The nomination for the Most Inspirational Secondary School focused not only on our students’ academic successes, but also the extra-curricular opportunities we offer our students, our engagement with local primary schools and ‘our students of the future’ as well as the establishment of our fundraising activities and alumni relations to help both our current students and future generations.

The nomination for the Communication Award focused on our new website and our ongoing work in building our communications and engaging with the School community, as well as the recent launch of our social media channels. Special thanks go to the Parents Association and the MBNA Foundation for their significant financial contribution to the new website.

Being shortlisted for the Outstanding Arts category recognises the success of the 2014 School show ‘Into the Woods’ and being shortlisted is a wonderful testament to the enthusiasm and hard work of all the students and staff, particularly Simon Emery and James Lacey, in putting together such a fantastic show.

Three to four schools have been shortlisted in each of these categories and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Friday 21st November at the Liverpool Cathedral.

“This is wonderful news and is a testament to the hard work of our students and staff that the School is being recognised for its achievements and successes. We will have our fingers crossed on the 21st November!” Mrs Silcock, Headteacher
