On Wednesday 25th March Blue Coat students from Years 8 and 9 competed in the Regional Final of the United Kingdom Mathematical Trust (UKMT) Team Challenge.
The UKMT Team Challenge promotes mathematical dexterity, teamwork and communication skills. The competition has provided Blue Coat students with the opportunity to compete against other students from around the North West region.
The Team Challenge involves students taking part in a number of different rounds including the crossnumber, relay and shuttle. Despite strong competition from other schools and the additional pressure of working against the clock, Blue Coat students rose to the challenge. Everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed the event and the various challenges involved.
Congratulations to our Junior Maths Team of Katy, Ben, Yvonne and Jonathan who won the event. It was a competitive event and the team beat off strong competition to secure the win.
The team will now represent The Blue Coat School during the National Final held in London in June.
