This term we had not one but three Old Blues nominated for the 2019 North West Football Awards. All three, Georgia Stevens from the Class of 2018 and Chris Pajak and Paul Machin, from the Class of 2001, made it through the final.
In just over twelve months Georgia has embarked on a Multimedia Sports Journalism degree, been appointed a Kick It Out ambassador, completed an internship with Sky Sports News, signed for Fylde Ladies Football Club and signed a new sponsorship deal with Umbro. Now Georgia can add being a finalist in the Women’s Rising Star of the Year category to that growing list.
Chris and Paul’s passion for Liverpool Football Club led to the launch of their YouTube channel, The Redmen TV in 2010. To date their channel, which provides fans with club stats, match analysis and interviews with players, has attracted close to 400,000 subscribers. Their popularity among Liverpool fans has in recent years grown at an astonishing rate. The pair have been nominated in the Fan Media Channel category.
We would like to congratulate Chris and Paul on receiving the NWFA Fan Media Channel award at a glitzy ceremony at Emirates Old Trafford. For a first hand insight into their growing media business and their close relationship with Liverpool Football Club stay tuned for our 2019/20 Old Blues’ magazine.
Following on from her NWFA nomination we were delighted to welcome back Georgia to Blue Coat in November. During a packed day Georgia delivered a football training session for our Year 7 PE students, provided students with an insight into her football career and degree programme and showed off her first England cap!
We are delighted to report that since catching up with Georgia her talent has been recognised by The Women’s Football Magazine. The publication have nominated Georgia in their Player of the Year category. We wish Georgia the very best of luck!
