This year a new and exciting partnership between the English Department and Liverpool Everyman has been established. This fantastic collaboration, involving twenty three Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 students will see them enter the world of theatre production through performance and script writing, elements which will help nurture their love of the creative arts.
The programme which has already involved performances of the highly acclaimed Lord of the Flies and Madame Bovary, will also see students take part in a page to stage workshop, designed to bring our creative arts’ lovers closer to understanding the transition between the written text and stage performance.
Twelve talented students have also been chosen to take part in ‘Work Bard, Play Bard’, a project that has captured the imagination of schools across the North West thanks to the Everyman and Globe Theatres. To mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death our students will be exploring ways to write and create a twenty minute sketch based on Shakespeare’s play ‘The Merchant of Venice’ which will be performed in July in front of a live audience.
