U14 Cricket Success
On Monday 22nd June 2022, the Blue Coat U14 cricket team reached the semi-finals of the prestigious Lancashire Schools Competition for the second successive year when they defeated Merchant Taylors School in a closely fought contest.
Blue Coat restricted Merchant Taylors to 92-8 with some economical bowling from Haris, Thomas, and Shamal. Blue Coat required 33 to win off the last five overs of the game and secured victory with seven balls to spare thanks to some explosive hitting from Talha (30) and Haris (17 not out).
The team was superbly led by Shamal who also contributed 18 valuable runs.
This is a tremendous achievement for the students who now will face the current holders Lancaster Royal Grammar school, the team that defeated Blue Coat in last year’s semi-final.
