As part of World Book Day a series of special events will be taking place throughout the day.

Blue Coat staff have agreed to dress up as their favourite literary character. Students will have an opportunity to win a number of book tokens if they can correctly identify which characters staff have dressed up as.

There will also be a chance for students to listen to a story they may not have heard during our whole school read. Roald Dahl’s classic Lamb to the Slaughter, split into five sections, will be read at the start of each lesson.

Our aspiring authors are invited to participate in Murder on the Bluecoat Express, a 500 word short story competition based on a mystery. The author behind the best short story will win a book of their choice.

The benefits of reading are enormous and we look forward to celebrating World Book Day!
