We are fortunate that so many parents, Old Blues and friends of the School feel so passionate about the School that they are inspired to support us.
We have a fantastic heritage and history but we refuse to stand still – we are ambitious for the future and seek to constantly make the Blue Coat experience the very best it can be for our students. In order to do this, fundraising is a financial necessity. As an academy school we are entitled to government funding; however the funds we are entitled to do not cover the costs of ‘the extras’ that make the Blue Coat education so unique. We strive to deliver the highest teaching standards and provide top quality facilities, and to achieve this we rely on the generosity of the Blue Coat community.
We urge you to support the School to help us provide every opportunity for our students to fulfil their potential.
Supporting the School with a regular gift is invaluable as it enables us to plan for the future and you can support us over a period of time that you choose in a way that is affordable and manageable to you. To support us with a Regular Gift please complete our Donation Form & Gift Aid Declaration and return to the Development Office.
If you are a UK Tax payer please ensure you sign the Gift Aid declaration as this enables us to claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated from HMRC.
Making a Single Gift
Should you wish to support us with a single gift please complete our Donation Form & Gift Aid Declaration and send a cheque, made payable to ‘Blue Coat Charitable Donations’, to the Development Office.
If appropriate, please ensure you sign the Gift Aid declaration as this enables us to claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated from HMRC.
There are a number of ways that companies support the School, such as by making a donation or through sponsorship of an event or activity. Increasingly more companies are interested in supporting our busy calendar of events and activities via sponsorship and we are always pleased to have a conversation with companies interested in supporting us in this way. For more information, please contact the Development Office on 0151 733 1407 ext 207 or at email@example.com
Many local, regional and national companies also support the School and our students by volunteering at Careers Fair or delivering careers talks to our students. To find out more about supporting us in this way please click here.
Leaving a gift in your will
“I was admitted to The Blue Coat School as a boarder in the 1970s. The School provided me with the environment to develop and fulfil my potential and I would like my experience to be enjoyed by future students of the school. I hope my future gift to the School will provide opportunities to future generations of students so that they may benefit from a Blue Coat School education and supportive learning environment as I did.” Old Blue & Legacy Pledger, 2014
The Blue Coat School would not exist as it is today without the generous gifts left by many benefactors in their Wills.
A gift in your Will enables you to support the School in a way which may not have been practical or possible during your lifetime. You will know that your gift will continue to support future students for generations to come. All gifts will benefit our students, enhancing the fabric and facilities of the School and ensuring that talented young people have the best possible chance to fulfil their potential.
We recognise that leaving a gift in your Will is a very personal matter and that first and foremost you will want to provide for your family and loved ones. Having done this, we hope that you might consider including a legacy in favour of The Blue Coat School.
You can find out more about leaving a gift in your Will to the School by downloading our legacy brochure by clicking here.
We understand that many prefer making a Will to remain a private matter, and we will of course respect this and guarantee your anonymity. On the other hand, the receipt of a legacy is always tinged with sadness but slightly less so if we have had chance to say thank you during your lifetime. If you have already made a Will naming the School as a beneficiary but have not yet told us about it we would be very grateful if you could please let us know by completing our Legacy Pledge Form and returning it to the Development Office. You can download the Legacy Pledge Form by clicking here.
We are delighted to recognise the commitment of those who have pledged a legacy by offering membership to the 1708 Society which has been established to recognise and thank during their lifetime, those who have made a legacy in favour of the School.
For more information, or to request a copy of the brochure to be sent to you in the post, please contact the Development Office on 0151 733 1407 ext 207 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
