On Monday 9th July students in Year 9 and Year 10 gathered together to celebrate the success and achievement of their peers in Shirley Hall, surrounded by friends and family.

Headteacher Mr Pennington and Key Stage 5 Leader Mr Cain praised students for their hard work and conscientious approach to their studies as they prepare for their GCSE examinations. The event also provided a moment to reflect on the various events that have taken place throughout the school year, including working with the local community through our sports leaders programme, a diverse range of national and regional competitions and a series of Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. These are all opportunities that are an integral part of Blue Coat School life.

Delivering our guest speaker address, junior Doctor and Old Blue Liam Loftus from the Class of 2011. Liam, a University of Oxford graduate, encouraged students to follow their passion as they consider their future career path and to use their ambition and motivation to overcome any challenges they may face. We would like to thank Liam for taking time out of his incredibly at the Royal Liverpool Hospital busy schedule to inspire and congratulate our Key Stage 4 students.

Finally our thanks go to Investec for kindly sponsoring this event.
