• The name of the school is The Blue Coat School.
• The school is a voluntary aided school.
• The name of the governing body is: the Governing Body of The Blue Coat School.
• The governing body shall consist of:
• 3 parent governors
• 2 LEA governors
• 4 staff governors (including the head teacher)
• 1 sponsor governor
• 12 foundation governors, of whom four shall, at the time of their appointment, be eligible for election or appointment as parent governors.

Total number of governors: 22.

• Foundation Governors are appointed and may be removed by the Liverpool Blue Coat School Foundation, which is a registered charity.
• If there is any excess in the number of foundation governors, the body named in paragraph 5 above shall remove sufficient foundation governors to ensure that such excess is eliminated.
• This Instrument of Government comes into effect on 9th September 2008.
• This Instrument was made by the order of Liverpool Children’s Services Authority in September 2009.
