We are delighted to announce that Miss Fitchie, has been nominated for the North West Netball Teacher Goalden Globe Award.

As P.E. subject coordinator Miss Fitchie has made an outstanding contribution to the department since her arrival at The Blue Coat School in 2014. Thanks to her passion, enthusiasm and dedication, netball has flourished. Our growing number of players continue to develop under Miss Fitchie’s leadership and a growing number of opportunities including our annual netball tour, house netball and local and regional competitions, have led to regular sporting success. For the past four years eight teams have been crowned City Champions and with no shortage of talented players the sport’s success and popularity at Blue Coat looks set to continue.

Reflecting on her achievement Miss Fitchie said: “It was a complete shock to be nominated, yet it is a privilege and an honour. Netball has always been my passion and to see so many pupils become interested and succeed in the sport is something I am immensely proud of. They are all very passionate about netball, yet they all have fun along the way.”

Once again we congratulate Miss Fitchie on her fantastic achievement. If successful in winning the North West Goalden Globe award, Miss Fitchie will progress to the National Goalden Globe Award ceremony, in September.
