Pangea Maths Competition

Following a strong performance during the first round of the Pangea Maths Competition in April, seventy Blue Coat mathematicians from Years 7 to Year 10 qualified for the National Final.

Taking place on Saturday 12th May at Queen Mary University in London, our students once again demonstrated their passion and enthusiasm for maths, securing first and second place in Year 7, first place in Year 8, first, second and third in Year 9, and second place in Year 10. This fantastic achievement led to Blue Coat being crowned the school with the most finalists.

Well done to all those students involved!

Junior Maths Challenge

On Thursday 26th April students from Year 7 and Year 8 were involved in the Junior Math Challenge. They achieved a very impressive set of results with over 85% of students being awarded a certificate.

Students achieved 48 Gold certificates, 80 Silver certificates and 76 Bronze certificates. In addition to this, five students qualified for the two hour Junior Maths Olympiad and a further 21 students qualified for the one hour Junior Kangaroo.

Congratulations to all students and good luck to those sitting the Junior Maths Olympiad and Junior Kangaroo in June.
