This week, Monday 9th to Friday 13th October, our Blue Coat bookworms are taking part in Readathon.
A nationwide event, Readathon encourages students to read for fun whilst at the same time raising money for seriously ill children. Students can choose to read anything they wish from comics to classics, it’s all about having fun! Participants can seek sponsorship per book, per page or per ten minutes of reading.
Proceeds raised will go directly towards providing books and storyteller visits to children in hospital, including Liverpool’s Alder Hey Hospital. The Blue Coat School library will also benefit, with 20% of funds allocated to purchasing new books for our avid readers.
Throughout the week our students will have the opportunity take part in a series of competitions including best book review and designing a new book cover, with prizes awarded to winners.
