The remarkable talent and aspiration of our Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students was celebrated during two special events held on Thursday 26th June and Monday 3rd July.

Addressing students, staff and parents, Head teacher Mr Pennington praised students for the hard work and commitment shown throughout the 2016/17 academic year, both inside and outside of the classroom. Mr Pennington also welcomed on stage guest speaker Mr Caulkin MBE, former Blue Coat student and long serving physics teacher. As well as reflecting on his own experience of the School as student during the late 1950s and early 1960s, Mr Caulkin congratulated students on their many and varied achievements and encouraged them to further develop their skills and talent via their extra-curricular activities.

It is clear, judging by the vast number of activities our students have participated in, including the School choir and orchestra, School Council, Blue Coat clubs and societies, Duke of Edinburgh, coding competitions, robotics challenges, engineering placements and national sports tournaments, our students have not only risen to the challenge but have also embraced Blue Coat School life to the full.

As well as receiving certificates of achievement and progress, a number of students also received special prizes due to a notable contribution, such as teaching local primary school children Cantonese, or for securing a place at a prestigious sports academy.

We would once again like to congratulate our outstanding students for all of their hard work. Our thanks are also extended to teaching and support staff for their dedication and enthusiasm and to Blue Coat parents. Finally we would like thank Investec Wealth Management for their generous donation towards this year’s special prizes.
