With politics taking centre stage in 2016, students in Years 10 and 11 were formally introduced to the world of politics during November’s Democracy Day.

Throughout the event students attended a series of introductory talks, exploring Britain’s Parliamentary democracy and key elements of the country’s political system, including the role of the Prime Minister and aspects of the electoral system.

Moving further afield students also had the chance to compare and contrast Britain’s political system with America and China’s structure of governance, from the American Constitution to China’s one party state.

Thanks go to Mr Farrell for organising the event and to Mr Cox, Mr Pearson and Ms Holland for their insightful whistle-stop tour of politics.
